The Fortress (biker) Church is not a church just for bikers. We are a biker ministry church. We are bikers and non-bikers with one very important thing in common, we have the desire to tell others about the saving grace and love of God through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God.
I have been asked why the (biker) in the name and why not just "The Fortress Church". Well it just so happens this is how God laid it out to me. I have a heart for the bikers in my community and when I advertised with flyers, the only places I knew to put them out was in biker bars and shops. Our slogan or catch phrase or whatever you call it is, "The Fortress (biker) Church, founded by bikers, built for everyone." You do not have to ride to join us. Just be looking for a relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. We do not preach, teach, or indorse a religion. We encourage, guide, mentor and love the community, and each other in the body of the church.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission statement comes from Jesus Himself.
MATTHEW 28: 18-20. For which the 'RC paraphrase' is;
We are to go into all nations and make disciples. Teaching others to obey the commands of God as they were taught to us through Jesus, His Son.
and as Paul instructed the Corinthians...
He died for all people so that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for the man who died and was brought back to life for them. So from now on we don't think of anyone from a human point of view. If we did think of Christ from a human point of view, we don't anymore. Whoever is a believer in Christ is a new creation. The old way of living has disappeared. A new way of living has come into existence. God has done all this. He has restored our relationship with him through Christ, and has given us this ministry of restoring relationships. In other words, God was using Christ to restore his relationship with humanity. He didn't hold people's faults against them, and he has given us this message of restored relationships to tell others. Therefore, we are Christ's representatives, and through us God is calling you. We BEG you on behalf of Christ to become reunited with God. God had Christ, who was sinless, take our sin so that we might receive God's approval through him.
(2 Corinthians 5:15-21)
Not all of us will go to a foreign country, but there may be someone we touch with the Gospel that will. Therefore, we went to another nation to make disciples. Those we touch may be the very ones that take the message to other states, other nations or even remote islands that no one has taken God's message to, yet. We may not be called to a nation in a far away land, we may just be called to the nation around the corner from our house. We can touch our whole community just by telling our neighbor about Jesus.
OPERATION FREEDOM
John 8:32
To be truly set free is to know Jesus.
So many times we are given what appears to be the truth. It sounds good but it leaves a ringing in the ear that just is not right. Unfortunately it has been repeated so many times it starts to make sense. Operation Freedom is an invitation to released prisoners to come and worship with us and join our family in the body of Christ. To hear the truth, to be sure that they have the truth of the Gospel of Jesus. That their choices line up with the will of God. That through the truth of the Gospel they will become a new creation and that the chains of the world will fall off and they will become free indeed. This is also for us that are already in the church family, we need to be ever mindful that THE TRUTH IS IN THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST. Come join our family and worship our God, our Father and Creator, His Son, Jesus and listen to the Holy Spirit as it leads us to places we could never go by ourselves.
